Taxation of Litigation: Settlements and judgments are taxed differently. The IRS Audit Technique Manual is used as the main reference materials for this presentation. Attendees will be able to determine what settlements are tax free and which leave the taxpayer with less than 15% net income from the award. The sums of court judgments can be huge and the tax consequences enormous.

John Warren, EA: John has four decades of tax preparation experience. He has experience with Fortune 100 corporate and international tax software design and application development. Most recently he verified tax software compliance. His tax practice is a fresh idea venture of collaborating experienced tax professionals in the Medford area. John prepares individual, small business and non-profit tax returns. He is an enrolled agent, past-president of MASEA, NPTI fellow and regularly appears on the Cape TV program, “The Tax Experts”.
