THE CROSSROADS OF MENTAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE USE 

This training event will award 2 contact hours for LMSW and LCSW with the NYSED State Board for Social Work and 2 contact hours for LMHC and LMFT with the NYSED State Board for Mental Health Practitioners and 2 CASAC renewal credits

North America continues to experience the highest drug-related mortality rate in the world, accounting for 1-in-4 drug-related deaths globally. The conversation addressing the current heroin crisis, not only in Nassau and Suffolk counties, but across the nation needs to continue. This presentation will discuss the prevalence and dangers of opioid use, the role of mental health problems and what each person as a service provider and community member can contribute to secure better outcomes for the future.

Parking at MHA:
Metered parking is available in two locations: on Main St. across from MHA in the municipal lot and on Cooper St. behind the building in the parking garage near traffic court.  Please bring change for the meters. Current rate is 50 cents/ hour.
