Port Huron Citizens Human Trafficking 
Awareness Seminar

The Kiwanis of Port Huron, along with the Michigan Abolitionist Project, invite you to learn about human trafficking at this Citizens Awareness Seminar held at the lovely Blue Water Conference Center.

The morning features a panel of experts who will discuss the issue of human trafficking in Michigan communities like yours. Topics include how to recognize human trafficking, how to protect your family, signs that help identify victims and how our community can address the root causes of this henious crime. On the panel will be local law enforcement, community experts, and special guest Deborah Monroe.

Deborah is a Certified Peer Support Specialist in Michigan who has survived human trafficking. She serves on the Govenor's Human Trafficking Commission and also travels our state providing workshops and keynote presentations sharing her lived experience on mental health and substance abuse, Incarceration and human trafficking.

The event include optional breakout sessions. You will also have opportunity to visit displays and representatives from many community organizaitons who are addressing human trafficking in our region and across our nation including Michigan Abolitionist Project, Truckers against Trafficking, Shared Hope Defenders, and more. 

The event is brought to you FREE of charge because of a generous donation from Blue Water Home Loans and the support of the Michigan Abolitionist Project and your local Port Huron Kiwanis Club.  Tickets are limited so registration is encourged to ensure your participation.
