Prepare and Repair

Jurdan Mendiguchia & Jonas Dodoo

We are excited to bring to you "Prepare and Repair", a workshop that combines the wisdom from elite sprint coaching with the advanced practices from sports medicine.

The workshop will be a mix between theoretical reasoning and practical application. Participants will have the opportunity to observe but also be coached in order to learn the heuristics required to connect clinical assessment, running gait and training interventions.

Key components of the day:

1 - Sprinting, its role within injury mechanism as well as performance enhancement.

1.1 Sprint mechanics (Kinematics & Kinetics during Acceleration & Maximum velocity)

1.2 How to measure and implications for training

1.3 Common technical errors

2 -  Rehab and prevention approach

2.1 Current thinking

2.2 What we propose

       - Treatment / prevention criteria

        - Individualised risk factor analysis

        - Training intervention (Planning and programming)

3 - Case studies

          - How to correct them

4 - Practical

- “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

By the end of the workshop, attendees should be able quickly recognise key components of efficient sprinting gate and also apply simple decision making process to select drills, cues and training interventions to have long lasting change to athlete performance and health.

Please note this workshop has limited capacity.
