Identification and Treatment of Binge Eating Disorder in a Weight Stigmatized World 

This training event will award 2 contact hours for LMSW and LCSW with the NYSED State Board for Social Work and 2 contact hours for LMHC and LMFT with the NYSED State Board for Mental Health Practitioners and 2 CASAC renewal credits

This presentation will outline the new Binge Eating Disorder diagnosis using DSM-5 criteria. Presenters will identify common signs and symptoms as well as how to differentiate between disordered eating and other eating disorder diagnoses. Various treatment modalities including levels of care and effective dietary and clinical interventions will be discussed. Presenters will also provide recovery-focused resources in the community as well as highlight HAES, Body Positive principles as well as weight stigma in society.
