Intersections of Technology & Domestic Violence:  Maintaining Safety & Security in a Digital Age-Albany, NY

Maintaining Safety & Security in a Digital Age Technology increasingly affects our lives and has a significant impact onsurvivors. Emerging technologies and the ways in which abusers misuse technology pose a challenge for victim safety, privacy, and confidentiality. This training will look at how perpetrators misuse technology as another tool to stalk, abuse, and further control victims. We will also identify strategies for basic safety planning around technology risks and privacy while focusing on how to empower survivors around tech. Finally, we’ll also discuss how our own technology use asservice providers can pose privacy and safety risks and how to avoid those.

There is ample free parking available at the training location.

Food: 

Food and drink will NOT be provided during this training.  Please make sure to tend to your breakfast needs before arriving and bring any drinks or snacks you might want.  Attendees will be provided a one hour lunch break.  There are a number of lunch options available near the training site.
