Composition Basics: Framing Your World
This is a three-hour workshop designed to engage photographers of every level in creating better compositions for their images. The instructor will cover basic compositional "rules" and when and why to follow or break them.
There will be a lecture that includes an interactive demonstration on creating well-balanced images. Participants will then have one-on-one instructor time to practice creating successful compositions and to ask any questions they may have. Attendees will create still life images in the photo studio to practice the learned concepts.

About the Instructor:
Mary Fashbaugh Bean earned her MFA in photography from Notre Dame in 2014. She previously lived in Michigan where she grew up (as a yooper) and went to undergraduate in Flint. Mary has spent the last few years living in Los Angeles, where she continued to exhibit her work. She recently moved back to South Bend, where she currently teaches Photography at IUSB and is excited to be part of the growing art community!
