Wisconsin Standards for Social Studies:
The Foundational Work

There are significant shifts in pedagogy and student expectations with the revised WI Standards for Social Studies.

This session will:

  • Introduce those shifts (formatting, interdisciplinary nature of social studies, comparison to previous standards)
  • Provide time to unpack and repack the standards
  • Learn about the inquiry arc, an essential part of quality social studies teaching and learning

*Future WISSS workshops will assume that attendees have learned this material.*

Audience:
This collaborative session is designed for district teams or individuals involved in the social studies standards rollout.

This workshop is a part of a series. The additional CESA #1 WISSS workshops are:

December 4, 2018- WISSS: Elementary
February 5, 2019- WISSS: Integration of State Requirements
February 21, 2019- WISSS: Planning for Year 2, Reflection
