The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: An America and the World Lecture

Join the World Affairs Council Upstate and Furman University for the final presentation of our second annual America and the World Lecture Series, a lecture on the Palestine-Israel conflict by Furman Professor Dr. Akan Malici.

Dr. Malici's presentation will provide insight into the issues surrounding the ongoing conflict and review the historical and religious factors behind the 51 year conflict over the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

Curious about the global impact of the Palestine-Israel conflict? Ask Dr. Malici your questions after the lecture.

Dr. Malici is a professor at Furman University. His scholarly interest is in the area Peace and Conflict Studies. Among his books are When Leaders Learn and When They Don't (SUNY Press, 2008), U.S. Presidents and Foreign Policy Mistakes (Stanford University Press, 2011) and Role Theory and Role Conflict in U.S.-Iran Relations: Enemies of Our Own Making (Routledge 2016).
