2018 Community & Justice Gala Fundraiser
Since 1952, the mission of RICJ has been to fight bias, bigotry and racism
by building understanding and respect.
Today, this mission is more important than ever.

For over 35 years, Tony Maione has fought this same fight - to build a truly inclusive Rhode Island.

As long-time President and CEO of United Way of Rhode Island, Executive Director of the regional chapter of the National Conference for Community and Justice (the predecessor organization to RICJ), and Executive Director of the Samaritans, Tony's leadership has been transformative.  Reducing homelessness, increasing affordable housing, improving job skills and financial literacy, developing high quality pre-kindergarten, out of school time and summer learning programs for school success, making us the first state to mandate the study of racial profiling by all police departments, and building leadership opportunities for youth, Tony has transformed our social landscape.  Now, as Tony retires from United Way, we thank him!  Please join us.

Celebrate a Community Leader -- We celebrate Tony with a special focus on the work so close to his heart -- building youth as leaders through United Way's Young Leaders Circle and RICJ's Youth Action Council.

Celebrate with Youth Leaders -- Emcees for the Gala and the leaders of our future!

Celebrate with Food of the World, a delicious buffet feast of culinary choices donated by local restaurants, in our beautiful "People's House" -- the Rhode Island State House.

Individual tickets $75.  (66% is tax deductible).  Special discount for United Way of Rhode Island staff.

You can sponsor!  Information at https://www.ricj.org/community-justice-awards-gala

We hope to see you December 5th,

Where?  In the "people's house": the Stateroom of our beautiful RI State House, 82 Smith St., Providence.

Why?  To celebrate the life's work of an important, admired community leader and friend.  To celebrate youth leaders in programs that Tony built and nurtured.  To support RICJ's youth, policy and education programs.

Can't come but want to donate?

Thank you!  Your tax-deductible contribution supports all our programs:
     * Empowering youth as leaders for our diverse future

     * Teaching people about building inclusive communities
     * Promoting fairness in law and policies

If you're coming:  There is free parking after 4:30pm in the LOWER Legislative Lot outside the State House, and in the Dep't. of Transportation lot across the street.  Also please note that everyone goes through Capitol Police Security at the front door which may create a slight delay, so please allow the time.  Thank you!
