This one-day workshop is designed for practitioners working in multiple roles to meet the needs of English Learners (ELs) within their districts. Participants will work both collaboratively and independently as they engage in learning that will help them serve ELs in three capacities: identifying effective instructional strategies, coaching with classroom teachers, and creating professional development.

Participants should bring a fully-charged electronic device and any materials that would be helpful in planning for coaching conversations and professional development (grade-level standards, assessment data, district curriculum materials, information about current district initiatives, etc.).

Alexis Nass has worked with and on behalf of English Learners for 13 years, and currently works as the Elementary EL Coordinator for the Verona Area School District. Alexis also coaches classroom teachers on effective instruction for linguistically diverse learners.
