Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a directive, client-centered counseling style of evoking behavior change by helping clients to explore and resolve ambivalence.  It is defined not by techniques, but by its spirit as a collaborative, facilitative style of interpersonal communication that respects the other's autonomy.
