About the Presentation:

Quite often, CEOs and CFOs encounter electronic document and signature issues.  Attorneys Michael King and Tim Forsman will explain the basics of the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (“ESIGN”) and the Uniform Electronic Transaction Act (“UETA”).  This interactive presentation will apply the principles of eTransactions to the day to day issues encountered by C-Level Executives and their teams.

About the Speaker(s): 

Mike King, Partner - Gammage & Burnham

Mike is a founding member of Gammage & Burnham. His practice emphasizes creditors’ rights and construction issues, and also includes consulting and supervising throughout the firm’s areas of business. These include emphasis on creditors’ rights -- bankruptcy cases, general litigation, loan documentation, work-outs, foreclosures and forcible detainers-- as well as deficiency collection and accounts collection. His client list includes banks, mortgage companies, distributors in various industries and leasing companies.

Mike is experienced in handling large lawsuits involving complex legal issues from crop damage claims and construction litigation to sophisticated Uniform Commercial Code cases.

His real estate practice includes construction, lending and finance, development, leasing and sales of retail, office, hotel, residential, multi-family and industrial properties and planned communities, as well as litigation.

Mike also represents construction clients, including architects, engineers, contractors and material suppliers, in lien and bond claims and other litigation, as well as in contract negotiation and preparation. He advises clients on day-to-day business transactions, preparing and perfecting security interests, preparing sales and license agreements, distribution agreements, credit agreements, copyright and trademark applications, other intellectual property matters, employment agreements and advice on labor and other issues.

Tim Forsman, Partner - Gammage & Burnham

Tim has experience in a wide array of commercial transactions and corporate governance matters. He has worked with clients to close asset-based term loans, form businesses and non-profits, document mergers and acquisitions, negotiate workouts, draft licensing agreements, and successfully close private placements. Tim regularly works with major lending institutions, healthcare organizations, technology companies, investors and small businesses.

Tim graduated first in his class from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, and received the college’s top honor in the John S. Armstrong Award. He received the Ross-Blakley Law Library Award for Exemplary Student Research for his article, “California’s Big Blank Check: What the QSA Means for the Salton Sea,” which was published in the spring 2014 issue of the Arizona State Law Journal. Tim was also recognized as a Willard H. Pedrick Scholar and a Rebecca and Michael Berch Scholar.  In 2016, Tim was honored to be named as one of Arizona's Top Pro Bono Attorneys.

In law school, Tim was consistently at the top of his class, receiving CALI awards in contracts, constitutional law, professional responsibility, evidence, conflict of laws, and jurisprudence. Tim enjoyed the privilege of serving as the Executive Articles Editor for the Arizona State Law Journal, and completing an externship with the Arizona Supreme Court Staff Attorney’s Office.

A native Arizonan, Tim is likely reading or spending time with his family when he isn’t working.
