• Cost: $500
• Deposit: $250 (due at time of registration)

Montreat College Conference Full Details:

 

Montreat College Conference is a gathering of young adults from across the country in the mountains of North Carolina to work together in community and learn and grow in God’s presence. This year the theme is Compassionate Community. “As a community of faith, we will discern God’s compassionate nature and how God is calling us to act with compassion in our communities, campuses, churches, and families. We will learn from faith leaders and organizations who are living lives of compassion, working towards justice and peace in their communities”.

 

The delegation will depart from Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church in north Kansas City, MO on the afternoon of  January 1^st and head for Nashville, TN to overnight in a church (TBD). Then wake up on the 2^nd and make the rest of the trip. We will return late on January 5^th, into the morning of January 6^th. Pine Ridge is the current plan for drop-off and pick-up for our delegation. Housing for the event will be in Assembly Inn on the Montreat Campus assuming availability. As a possible alternative we may rent a cottage and prepare our own meals at no additional cost.

 

 

The estimated cost of the $500 includes:

1. Registration to Montreat College Conference
2. Housing & Meals in Montreat
3. Travel Costs (not including food)

 

Travelers will need:

• Money for 4 to 6 fast-food meals while traveling
• Sleeping bag or other bedding for stop-over church in Nashville
• Clothes and toiletries for 4 days

 

Montreat Conference Center is a thin place, often called that for that ability to feel God’s presence so easily when you’re there. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to connect with students from around the country and use your Winter Break for growth.

 

• If you are not paying your entire registration at this time, we require a $250 non-refundable deposit. This will need to be submitted by check only to the Presbytery.
• Scholarships are available through Montreat, but they are limited. Please email Hope Barker at hopeb@montreat.org for an application.
