The ASCE MN Transportation Committee invites you to the December Section Meeting: Rethinking I-94.

When I-94 was constructed in the 1960’s, neighborhoods were destroyed, businesses and homes were lost, and communities were disconnected. What to do now? Come learn about Rethinking I-94, which is developing a new approach to building partnerships and reframing how a state transportation agency can think outside the highway. The first phase of Rethinking I-94 was initiated in 2016 as a two-year effort to develop a vision for I-94 through St. Paul and Minneapolis and understand both its community and transportation context. The vision is intended to connect issues identified through a comprehensive public engagement process relevant to today and beyond.

Gloria Jeff, AICP, is the Project Director for Rethinking I-94 at MnDOT. Past roles include Principal Planner at the Wichita Area MPO; Deputy Administrator and Associate Administrator for Policy at FHWA; Department Director and Deputy Director for Planning at Michigan DOT; General Manager of the Los Angeles DOT; and Vice President and Transportation Planning Manager at Parsons Brinkerhoff. Ms. Jeff holds BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering and a Master’s of Urban Planning from the University of Michigan.
