Investigating Identity Theft Training: AM Session
In this presentation, Sean McCleskey will train patrol officers in identity theft response, including practical methods for identifying and investigating this pervasive crime. Calling on years of personal investigative experience and institutional knowledge, McCleskey will give concrete examples and help patrol officers to learn what to look for and how to use it to support a case against perpetrators of identity theft.
- POST credits have been applied for.
- MAC will reimburse mileage and one night’s lodging at the Best Western Plus Capitol Ridge (at the rate of $129 per night) for attendees traveling 100 miles or further to attend. Reservations must be made by Monday, November 5, 2018.

About Sean McCleskey, Director of Organizational Education and Measurement, Center for IdentityR. Sean McCleskey is the director of Organizational Education and Measurement at the Center for Identity, University of Texas. He is also a faculty member in the Master of Science, Identity Management and Security Program. Prior to this position, Sean served as a special agent with the United States Secret Service, San Antonio Field Office, from 1998 until his retirement in 2015. During his tenure, he conducted a variety of investigations to include, but not limited to, the following: counterfeit currency, bank fraud, identity theft, credit card abuse, child pornography, narcotics trafficking, domestic terrorism and threats to protectees of the United States Secret Service. Sean holds two Bachelor of Science Degrees in political science and criminal justice from Texas Christian University and his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1998.
