3D Printing at UNH

Please join APICS New Haven Chapter for an exciting topic of 3D Printing Demonstration at UNH West haven, presented by Dr. Maria-Isabel Carnasciali. This is a joint event with ASQ New Haven and ASQ Southern Chapters. Very Limited Seating based on First Come First Served.

3D Printing: "This month we return to the University of New Haven for a hands-on, 3D Printing workshop at their Makerspace. 3D Printing and additive manufacturing technologies are revolutionizing many industries – from art, to manufacturing practices, to medical advancements. The technology has begun to infiltrate everyday life as the technology comes down in price; we see libraries, community spaces, and individuals acquiring the equipment. Come learn what the technology is all about and get experience designing, processing, and 3D printing a simple part."

Maria-Isabel Carnasciali Biography: Maria-Isabel Carnasciali joined the University of New Haven’s Engineering faculty in 2010. She received her Ph.D. from Georgia Tech in 2008 specializing in the area of thermal-fluid sciences, and a B.S. in Engineering from MIT’s Mechanical Engineering Program. Her interest and involvement with 3D printing goes back to her thesis work to quantify the frictional forces associated with non-coalescing drops, which involved manufacturing of tiny cantilever beams with the use of Stereo lithography – a 3D printing method. At the University, Dr. Carnasciali now serves as Director to the Prototyping & Ideation Laboratories, including the new University Makerspace.
