Dance Classes

Discover how much fun dancing can be and how easy it is to learn!        Come for fun, exercise, and socialization.

Beginning Country/Western Dance                                              This course, designed for beginners as well as people who just want to brush up on their skills, will teach you basic steps and simple variations of some of the most popular country and western dances:  Two-step, Cotton-Eye Joe, Waltz, Ten Step, and Swing.  You may attend alone or with a partner.  Smooth-soled shoes are recommended.  Mary Donnell-Brown and Travis Goosen, Instructors. $59                                                                                                               3012  7-9 PM  Tuesdays  1/15-3/5 No class 2/26 Campus Closed  (7 Sessions)  Hopkins 714

 Beginning Country Line Dance                                                       Do you like to dance but don't have a partner or your partner doesn't like to dance? If so, join us for Country Line Dancing. You will learn the Electric Slide, Little Susie, Gleeful Waltz, Moves like Jagger, and several more current line dances. So stop watching and start dancing. Advanced Country Line Dance
Prerequisite:  Beginning  line dance or instructor consent.  Now that you know the basics of line dancing, let's take it a step further.  Favorite dances taught in this session are San Antonio Stroll, Wild Stallion, Miss Incredible, Blurred Lines, Cotton-Eyed Joe, and other current dances.  Gather your friends or come alone for a fun-paced class.  Mary Donnell-Brown, instructor.  $59 per person.

Advanced Country/Western Dance
This course is a continuation of Beginning Country/Western Dance and is designed for students who are familiar with the basic steps and turns. The class will deal with more intermediate turns and twirls in Two-Step and Waltz, Night Club Two-Step, and couple side-by-side dances. You may attend solo or as recommended with a partner to practice turns and twirls. Mary Donnell-Brown and Travis Goosen, instructors. $59 per person.

Intermediate Country Line Dance
Prerequisite: Beginning line dance or instructor consent. Now that you know the basics of line dancing, let's take it a step further! Favorite dances taught include "Slappin" Leather, Watermelon Crawl, Boot Scootin' Boogie, West Coast Shuffle, Waltz across Texas, Cowboy Cha Cha, and other current dances.
