Bad press can overwhelm any business or organization. In this age of social media and negative journalism, the opportunities for damaging news are greater than ever. While you can’t change the truth of a negative situation, you can ensure your story gets heard and you can set the foundations for recovering from negative stories.

  • Businesses and community leaders will learn: how to be prepared for dealing with negative news situations; how to avoid making a difficult news situation worse; and how to build the necessary credibility to have your story heard.
  • Tourism related businesses will learn: the importance of a strong brand identity in minimizing bad press; how to contain the damage from a negative story, and how to be clear about the story you need to have heard.

Our presenters will provide examples of difficult situations that had the potential for doing significant damage to business and reputations, and strategies for minimizing that damage
