Our annual High School Ski retreat is a time for youth to enjoy recreation in the mountains while also starting off the new year renewing their relationships with God, friends and church family. Youth may choose to ski or snowboard OR instead they can enjoy ice skating and snow tubing if skiing/snowboarding is not their preferred activity. Our theme this year is: "Heights and Depths: How are the highs and lows of our lives part of God's overall plan for our lives? & How does sharing the best and worst of our lives strengthen our relationships with God and our Christian community?"
Who: 9th-12th graders. Friends are welcome.
Departure: Around 5:30pm Friday Jan. 4th
Where: We still stay at Holston Presbytery Camp in Banner Elk, NC and ski at Beech Mountain Ski Resort
Return: Around 3pm Sunday, Jan. 6th
COST: $225 is the base cost for the retreat. (Confidential scholarships are available. Please contact Allysen for more information).
The base price includes either your lift ticket OR ice skating and snow tubing (if you do not plan to ski or snowboard). All youth and adults skiing or snowboarding are required to wear a helmet. Extra costs may include: Ski rental and helmet $28, Snowboard and Helmet $38, Lesson $15
Youth should plan to bring spending money for lunch on the way home and any other snacks they wish to purchase on the way there or at the ski lodge. Price includes lodging, meals, leadership costs, transportation.
Deposit of $100 is due with your sign up by December 2nd. Final payments will be due December 31st.
If you need flexibility on the timing and spacing of your payments or would like to request scholarship money, please be in touch with Allysen. We can always be flexible with you and never want money to be the reason your child cannot attend!
What to expect for the weekend:
We begin Saturday with a devotion time and breakfast and then spend all day at Beech Mountain ski resort. Saturday night includes group building time surrounding our theme with games, activities, discussion, music and prayer. Sunday concludes with breakfast and a worship service.
