Community of Practice: Local and Regional Inclusive Growth

On Monday 10th December, EDAS will be holding its second of three half-day discussion events on the topic of inclusive growth.

This event, on Local and Regional Inclusive Growth, will include a presentation on how inclusive growth can intersect with City and Region Growth Deals. This presentation will be delivered by David Waite of Policy Scotland and the University of Glasgow and Professor Duncan Maclennan of the University of Glasgow.

There will also be a presentation on the Preston model of local wealth-building, delivered by Derek Whyte, Assistant Chief Executive of Preston City Council. Preston was recently named the UK’s most improved City, and Mr Whyte will reflect on how their local wealth-building model contributed to this improvement.

Following the presentations there will be some facilitated discussion sessions so that attendees can feed-in their own experiences, and to discuss any obstacles that might exist.
