2019 West Central Texas

Emergency Preparedness Conference 

The West Central Texas Council of Governments (WCTCOG) along with State and Local Emergency & Preparedness organizations are planning the first annual West Central Texas Emergency Preparedness Conference.  This event is being hosted by the City of Abilene and will take place at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Abilene Convention Center.

The intent of this one-day conference is to bring the region’s emergency management and preparedness stakeholders together for discussion, networking, and education on issues of common concern and interest here in the West Texas area on natural and man-caused disasters and hazards.

The theme for this conference is “Preparing Together”.

The conference day will include presentations on preparedness topics relevant to the West Texas region, exhibits on emergency preparedness and response resources and information booths from organizations involved in supporting the four emergency management pillars of mitigation, planning, response and recovery.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided during the conference.

Who should attend? The target audience includes local and county officials, emergency managers, coordinators, first responders, healthcare, military and other organizations involved in emergency preparedness and response.
