Have you ever witnessed an act of discrimination and not known what to do? What to say? The Bystander/Upstander Workshop will prepare participants to intervene safely and appropriately when witnessing incidents of discrimination, harassment, or harm. Participants will engage with real-life scenarios specifically customized for Door County to enable them to effectively identify and challenge negative narratives and behaviors.

Presented by FIT Oshkosh, Inc.- a nationally recognized racial literacy non-profit advocating for tolerance, equity, and inclusion - the Bystander/Upstander Workshop is co-sponsored by the Door County Medical Center, the Door County Civility Project, HELP of Door County, Inc., Hope United Church of Christ, JUST Door County, Inc., PFLAG Door County, and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County.

The Bystander/Upstander Workshop runs from 9:00 am – 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Kress Pavilion, 7845 Church Street in Egg Harbor. Advanced registration is required. Tickets are $20.00 prior to April 1st. After April 1st, tickets will be $25.00. A light lunch is included. Registration is capped at 30 participants. Early registration is highly recommended. For ticket information, please contact the Door County Community Foundation at 920-746-1786 or email dccivilityproject@gmail.com.
