The Thanksgiving Trees
A look at the trees of pre-colonial New England and the impact the indigenous people and colonists had on them
Based on the book titled “Changes in the Land: Indians, Colonists and Ecology of New England”, by William Cronon, Arboretum Naturalist Bob Chicken leads this FREE tree walk visiting trees common to the N.E. Forests and how both native and colonial people exploited and changed both the forests and individual tree populations. Dress for the weather!
Come and walk off that turkey and stuffing on Friday, November 23rd.
There will be one tour at 9:30am and the walk will be 45 minutes to 1 hour long. Please dress apropriately for the weather and walking approximately 1 mile.
