Santa Fe Shadow Yoga In-Depth Studies 2019

With Scott Blossom

Creating a personal practice is essential for maturing one's skills as a yoga practitioner and is an integral part of studying Shadow Yoga. While persistence and devotion are required, one also needs to have a flexible , creative set of tools and a solid theoretical understanding to meet one's changing needs from day-to-day and to realize the inner potentials of yoga.

This intensive course is designed to offer students, both local and out-of-town, an opportunity to learn Shadow Yoga in a methodical way that will support a fruitful home practice. Scott will be offering two weekend intensives in Santa Fe plus a 5-day residential retreat with his wife Chandra Easton at Tara Mandala Retreat Center in Pagosa Springs, CO. This format will afford the time and space to delve deeply into the practical, philosophical, and energetic basis of Shadow Yoga, practice of the three Prelude Forms and the "seed" asanas associated with them.

The courses in Santa Fe will cover the preparatory practices (Vyayamas) of Shadow Yoga, including lifestyle and dietary observances derived from Ayurveda, and the Prelude Forms: Balakrama and Chaya Sanchalanam. The Tara Mandala retreat will go into the third prelude, Kartikeya Mandalam. Students will gain a deeper understanding of how to utilize Shadow Yoga for personal growth, healing, and preparing one's subtle body for the internal limbs of yoga.

This course is open to all levels of students. You can sign up for the January weekend only or for both weekends. No drop-ins for the May weekend.
