The Treatment of Blood Stasis

A Key Factor for the Successful Treatment of Modern Diseases

Understanding the basic mechanisms of Blood Stasis and being familiar with effective treatment strategies is fundamental in the modern clinician of Chinese medicine. Blood Stasis is a key factor involved in most chronic stagnation conditions  which, with proper and correct diagnoses allows selection of acupuncture points and herbal formulas which facilitate deep healing.  These  difficult-to-treat diseases were addressed in the  19th century classic, Yi Lin Gai Cuo, one of the most important books ever written on the treatment of Blood Stasis. It is the source of many of the commonly applied prescriptions in modern Chinese medicine. Still, many of these formulas are not well known in the West. However, prescriptions from the Yi Lin Gai Cuo are the ideal starting place for the treatment of any and all types of Blood Stasis presentations.

In this seminar Mr. Becker will introduce the Yi Lin Gai Cuo as one of the late classics of Chinese medicine.  Thereafter, the presentation of Blood Stasis: and it's development and how Blood Stasis influences other disease mechanisms will be addressed. Then, Mr. Becker will introduce some of the best and most popular formulas from the Yi Lin Gai Cuo. For each formula, Mr. Becker will analyze the composition, present its clinical applications, discuss case histories and look at modifications.  Mr. Becker will also present appropriate acupuncture prescriptions that work congruently with these formulations.
