Talking to Your Elementary School Aged Child About Adoption

This workshop will provide parents of adopted school-aged children with perspective and tools on how to talk to their children about adoption in an age-appropriate manner.

 Topics to be covered include:

  • Common parental concerns in discussing adoption with children
  • Typical development stages of school-aged children, and how they may impact an adopted child's thinking on his/her adoption
  • Empowering your child to view his/her adoption from a healthy perspective, and providing tools on how to respond to questions from others
  • When (and if) to explain circumstances of the adoption in ways your child can best understand.  

Date: Wednesday, February 6th, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Fee: $35 per person/ $60 per couple
