Defensive Driving Course by the National Safety Council 

DDC 6 New York is a 6-hour instructor-led classroom course approved by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) under the NY Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP).  PIRP, an accident prevention training program, is governed under a set of regulations promulgated by the DMV.   Under PIRP, drivers completing this course through NSC will be eligible for:

A.  A motor vehicle liability insurance premium discount of no less than 10% each year, for three years, on the premiums for all vehicles of which the graduate is listed as the principal operator.

B.  Up to four violation points reduced from the total accumulation on the driver record during the 18month period prior to DDC completion.

The class fee includes the NY DMV required processing fees, a NYS DMV approved certificate of completion which will be mailed to each driver who successfully completes the course, and electronic transmission of driver completions to NYS DMV. Lunch is provided.
