          Richard Isaacson, M.D.

                      PRESENTATION TOPIC:  BRAIN HEALTH

Dr. Isaacson serves as the Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program, the Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic, and the Weill Cornell Memory Disorders Program at Weill Cornell Medical College/Presbyterian Hospital.  He is a graduate of the accelerated 6-year B.A/M.D. program at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Medicine.  He specializes exclusively in Alzheimer's disease risk reduction and treatment, mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease risk reduction and treatment, mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease and pre-clinical Alzheimer's.  He is author of two best-selling, The Alzheimer's Prevention & Treatment Diet and Alzheimer's Treatment Alzheimer's Prevention: A Patient & Family Guide.

PRESENTATION TITLE:  THE BENEFITS OF RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY FOR FAMILIES EXPERIENCING DEMENTIA

 Matt Estrade, MA, MBA, is a dementia care consultant and educator in New Orleans. He earned his masters in Gerontology from the University of Louisiana Monroe.  In 2015, he was recognized in the New Orleans' Gambit 40 Under 40 of individuals making a difference in New Orleans. Through his practice, Care Partner Mentoring LLC, he facilitates training and weekly caregiver support groups. 

PRESENTATION TITLE:  SLEEP AND ALZHEIMER'S

Matt Calamia, PhD, is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University. He graduated with his undergraduate degree in Psychology from LSU and completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Iowa. Dr. Calamia's research focuses on improving the measures used in neuropsychological assessments. He conducts research in collaboration with the Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.

Jean Gatz combines a background in psychology and her experience as a successful business woman and entrepreneur with her talent to engage, inspire, and entertain audiences around the world.  She has provided trainings on leadership, communication, conflict resolution to various church groups, healthcare organizations, and businesses.

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS

CEUs will be offered to the following healthcare professionals:  

***Must register as a healthcare professional at $150 to be eligibile for CEUs.***

***There will be a $10 processing fee for all refund requests.***

Registered Nurses: A total of 6 contact hours have been submitted for approval for registration, attendance of the entire program and completion of the post program evaluation. St Elizabeth Professional Development and Alzheimer’s Services of Capitol the Area are co-providers is this Nursing Continuing Education Program.

     Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area and St. Elizabeth Hospital                        Professional Development are joint providers of this educational event. St.              Elizabeth Professional Development is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the South Central Accreditation Program, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. 

Social Workers: A total of 6 clinical hours of continuing education have been approved by Alzheimer's Services of the Capital Area, which is recognized by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners as an approved provider of continuing education.

Nursing Facility Administrators: A total of 6 hours of continuing education has been approved by the State of Louisiana Board of Examiners of Nursing Facility Administrators. 

Speech Language Pathologists & Audiologists: A total of 5 hours of continuing education in a related area is Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology acceptable.

Occupational Therapists: A total of 6 hours of continuing education have been submitted to the Louisiana Board of Medical Examiners.

Counselors:  A total of 5 hours of continuing education have been approved by the Louisiana Counseling Association.

Activity Therapists: A total of 6 hours  of continuing education have been submitted to the NCCAP for Certified Activity Directors & Certified Activity Consultants. 

Other healthcare disciplines: A certificate of attendance will be provided to present to respective licensing boards.

Physical Therapists:  A total of 6 clinical hours have been approved by the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board.
