Charla Henderson is the current Butler County Coalition Coordinator for Healthy, Safe and Drug-Free Communities. Her work in youth substance-use prevention depends on her ability to connect and build strong relationships with young people. Charla has travelled to Search Institute headquarters to become a Developmental Relationships Facilitator, while also having 4+ years of experience in youth development and support.
Assets 2.0: Developmental Relationships Framework
Already familiar with the 40 Developmental Assets? The Search Institute has taken their work with the 40 Developmental Assets one step further. Getting Relationships Right:The Developmental Relationships Framework was introduced in 2018 as a way to inspire adults to take practical steps to impact the youth in their lives. This curriculum challenges caring adults to be intentional about how they form, facilitate and sustain strong relationships with young people. Join us for this free training and get practical steps on putting this work into practice.
Attendees can expect to reach the following outcomes:
- Gain an understanding of the importance of relationship building with young people.
- Learn the 5 steps of the Developmental Relationships Framework and how to incorporate them into their organizations.
- Learn the importance of intentionality and inclusion when developing relationships.
- How the Developmental Relationships Framework expands/complements the 40 Developmental Assets.
