Assessing Students' Needs for
Assistive Technology - Review and Update

This workshop/network meeting will provide a framework for assessing a student's need for assistive technology. Every school district is required to ensure that assistive technology devices and services are provided if needed by a student in order to receive a free appropriate public education. But how does one assess the need for assistive technology? There is NO standardized test or tool to help determine the need for assistive technology. Join us and learn how to implement a successful process for assessement of assistive technology devices and services. New assistive technology tools will also be demonstrated and a website of resources will be available for participants.

Presenter: Paula Walser, MS/CCC SLP

Paula Walser, MS/CCC SLP is an educational consultant providing professional development and assessment services for schools in the area of assistive technology, augmentative and alternative communication and the use of technology within the classroom.
