Transferring The Farm Workshop - Vermont 

Workshop for farmers to learn key aspects and make informed decisions for transferring their farm to the next generation or a non-family successor. Farmers will learn from professionals who can help in the process and other farmers who have been through a transfer. 

Topics include:

  • Why succession planning is important
  • Retirement and estate planning
  • Addressing tax issues in a transfer
  • Legal entities and tools 
  • Determining your goals to address transfer planning and business transition 
  • Farmer panel will share their succession experience! 

This event is organized by by Land For Good, in partnership with Vermont Housing & Conservation BoardDinse LawIntervale CenterUVM Extension, and Yankee Farm Credit and is funded in part by the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture through its Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program.
