FLASH is a widely used comprehensive sexual health and sexual violence prevention curriculum originally developed by Public Health in Seattle and King County, Washington to prevent teen pregnancy, STIs, and sexual violence. This interactive and highly informative one day training covers the foundations of sexual health and sexual violence prevention instruction, including the FLASH values question protocol and using the FLASH key concepts to answer student questions. Educators will be trained to utilize current best practices and FLASH methodology based on public health theory, including how to teach about  the following topics: birth control, abstinence, STDs including HIV, sexual violence prevention, and sexual orientation and gender identity. After attending the training, participants will be able to deliver the FLASH curriculum, answer student questions, and utilize FLASH key concepts. FLASH is designed to be used in public schools, however is also great for non traditional settings such as alternative learning centers, working with at risk youth, shelter settings, etc. FLASH does not require all lessons be covered, topics can be chosen to best fit your audience.
