Big Puppets in the Early Childhood Classroom
Explore using and creating big, three-person puppets with early learners.
Earn a CUNY Certificate of Completion and CTLE Credit for Professional and Level III Teaching Assistant certificate holders.
Early childhood educators participating in this session will receive hands-on training in creating and using big puppets as an interactive tool for learning.
In this session, participants will acquire techniques to:
- Collaboratively build and manipulate three-person puppets
- Introduce early learners to necessary skills for safe creation and manipulation of big puppets in the classroom
- Use puppets for exploring and celebrating different cultural backgrounds and community events
Who should attend?
Educators interested in exploring new tools for student engagement and creativity.
Led by Helen Wheelock, Director of the Early Learning Program. Coffee and tea provided.
