 CSL Leaders:

Ina Albert, Certified Sage-ingŪ Leader - Ina has been leading seminars since 1999.  She co-authored Write Your Self Well, Journal Your Self to Health, and published Granny Greeny Says Listen Louder, an intergenerational picture book that teaches interpersonal communication.  She is an adjunct instructor at Flathead Valley Community College in Montana, and a Life Transitions Coach. For 35 years, Ina was a healthcare communication administrator at hospitals and health care facilities around the country. 

Caroline Blackwell, MSW, Certified Sage-ingŪ Leader - Caroline is a nationally recognized educator, facilitator, and consultant with 30 years of experience in personal and organizational development and change. Caroline believes each human interaction holds the promise of deep connection. She employs conversational leadership strategies and body-based practices to help individuals and groups realize these connections, access their wisdom, power, and inner authority to engage and “play” with life’s opportunities and challenges.  A foodie and recovering serious person, Caroline loves spending time with her husband and family, cooking, reading non-fiction, and crafting.

Pat Hoertdoerfer, MA, MDiv, Certified Sage-ingŪ Leader- Pat is a professional educator and retired Unitarian Universalist minister who has practiced her leadership skills in academic institutions and served liberal religious communities on congregational and continental levels for 40 years.  Her Sage-ing ministry combines education, spirituality, and creativity in programs that empower others in finding their spirit and wisdom.  A genuinely joyful and spirited person, Pat invites you to reflect on your doing and being in the second half of life as you journey toward becoming your ideal elder

Mary McQueen Porter, MA, MSW, MDiv, DMin, Certified Sage-ingŪ Leader- Mary has been teacher, social worker, pastor, and chaplain. She began her conscious aging in 2010 while working for culture change in long-term care and co-creating, with Lynn Bledsoe, the nonprofit Ruth and Naomi Senior Outreach in Birmingham, Alabama. In retirement she wears the mantles of grandmother and workshop/retreat leader.  She works part-time as parish associate for Congregational Care at a Birmingham Church, visiting home-bound elders and providing education related to aging and spirituality. 

Georgeanna Tryban, MSW, PhD, Certified Sage-ingŪ Leader- Georgeanna is treasurer of Sage-ing International and a retired professor of social psychology and gerontology at Indiana State University.  She began as a gerontologist in 1975 at Michigan State University and University of Michigan.  Her clinical MSW from Tulane University focused on cognitive behavioral approaches to increasing optimism in older persons.  Her passion for service is shown in her commitment to her local Wisdom Circle and her volunteer work with Youth for Understanding, which sponsored her own exchange to Japan in 1969.
