Racial Equity Institute Phase I Workshop - March 2019

Chatham Organizing for Racial Equity (CORE) is a multi-racial group of Chatham County residents and community advocates who believe that racism in our community hurts us all. We offer the opportunity for others to learn more about systemic racism by hosting Racial Equity Institue (REI) workshops in Chatham County. We are hosting a Phase I workshop for 2019 on March 8-9 at Chapel in the Pines Presbyterian Church.

Before you register for this event, it is important that you are willing to commit to the two full days. Each day we will meet from 9 am – 5 pm and breakfast (starting at 8:30 AM) and lunch will be provided. The training will include about 40 participants of different racial and cultural backgrounds, ages, and leadership positions. The workshop fee is $295 for individuals, $275 for groups of three or more, and $175 for college students. Please contact the Registrar (listed under Contact at left) by email about the Group rate before you register.

Scholarships Available!  We do not want the cost to stop anyone from attending. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, do not register yet. Instead, send an email to the Registrar with the following information: your name, email address, phone number, whether or not you are under 18 years of age, and your racial identity (white or person of color). Also include the amount you are able to pay, if any. You will be contacted within a few days. 

If you have attended an REI Phase I workshop in the past, you are welcome to join us in the outer circle without charge. We would like to know if you plan to come and if you want to join us for meals ($17.50 per day), so please send an email letting us know you are coming.
