This will be an overview of major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia), psychotic depression, postpartum depression and seasonal affective disorder. You will learn about prevalence rates and causes associated with findings in genetics, social factors, brain chemistry, structure and development. You will learn about the course and prognosis, signs, symptoms, treatments and recovery. Individuals from HOPE Ministries will be present to share their struggles with these illnesses as lived experiences. Participants will learn about the recovery philosophy. We will review hospital and community resources.
