Building Fraction Sense 

Come explore a progression for building foundational understanding of fractions to support students in reasoning about fractions in meaningful ways.

This workshop addresses conceptual understanding in grades 3-5 bringing clarity to rote work for students in grades 6-8.

During this training, participants will:

  • explore routines to develop "fraction sense" 
  • develop a deeper understanding of unit fractions as the building blocks of fractions
  • practice strategies and tools to support each and every learner in representing and reasoning with fractions meaningfully

 Audience:  Math Teachers Grades 3-8
