Every small business owner’s decision to start a business focus is on building a strong client base! While building a strong client base is important, building your team is just as important. Hiring your first employee is the decision to build your team and culture around the values and morals that will make your Company a success. This presentation will walk you through the processes of hiring your first employee and putting your HR processes in place.

Objectives 

After your training program, the trainees should be able to: 

1. Obtain an employer identification number / Register with your state's labor department. Identify Employee or Independent Contractor 

2. Recruit / hire / onboard (onboarding processes) 

3. Employee handbook (Policies and procedures) 

3. Get workers' compensation insurance. 

4. Select Small Business payroll systems and Assemble Business Team.  

5. Set up Employment Eligibility Verification for each new employee, i.e., E-Verify.
