2019 Scott Robertson Memorial –

Qualifier Application

Roanoke, VA/Naples, FL

The Boys 15-18 division and the Boys 14 and Under division for the April 27th qualifier at Roanoke Country Club is at capacity.  We are still accepting applications for this division and date, however, applicants will be placed on a wait list. We will be filling any available spots, on a first come, first serve basis.

The Scott Robertson Memorial Golf Tournament is a 54-hole stroke play event held in memory of Scott Robertson, a promising young Roanoke Country Club golfer.  Scott, a 14 year-old ninth grader at North Cross School, was a top student and sports enthusiast who had won his age division in several junior golf tournaments.  Scott died as a result of infectious mononucleosis in the summer of 1982.

In 2018, a field of 170 young golfers from 27 states & 13 foreign countries (Argentina, Canada, China, Colombia, Czech Republic, Italy, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland and Taiwan)  competed in the 35th annual Scott Robertson Memorial Junior Golf Tournament.

Contestants are divided into four divisions: boys and girls ages 14 and under, and boys and girls 15 to 18.  The winner in each division will receive a crystal trophy and the top finishers in each division will receive gift certificates.  The winners of the boys and girls 15-18 divisions will have a tree planted in their honor on the golf courses at Roanoke Country Club. Today you can see 34 years of champion’s trees over the 3 courses.

The Scott Robertson Memorial is recognized by the American Junior Golf Association, World Amateur Golf Rankings, Golfweek Rankings and Junior Golf Scoreboard. The boys and girls top finishers are awarded exemptions, based on the AJGA’s Performance Based Entry process.

Golfweek ranked The Scott Robertson Memorial as the 17th strongest field for boys and the 11th for girls among all junior tournaments in 2018.
