PBA January CLE: Ethical Issues in Emerging Technologies
Please join us for our monthly CLE meeting featuring attorney Paul Bond of Holland and Knight speaking on: Ethical Issues in Emerging Technologies. This program is anticipated to be approved for 1 ethics CLE credit. A gourmet lunch will be served.
About the Program:
Artificial intelligence increasingly allows companies to offer personalized services. But the sweeping changes are not limited to customer-facing interactions. RegTech promises to automate review of compliance obligations. Smart contracts are lauded as a tool for busy corporate counsel to get a handle on the proliferating number of complex agreements. Business intelligence tools inform not just business operations, but also business counsel. These new technologies raise questions of professional responsibility, both to understand the technology and to avoid abdicating professional judgment to a push-button world. This session will address these issues with a focus on existing guidance, emerging discussions, and practical considerations for crafting rules of the road.
