Central District 2019 Leadership Training

This annual event will cover the basics for church leaders who serve in the areas of finance, staff/pastor parish relations, and discipleship. The event will begin with a brief prayer service followed by the workshop sessions. Class sizes are limited. Pre-registration is a must!

The deadline for childcare registration has passed.

The general deadline to register is February 1.

Workshop Descriptions:

Finance – Heidi Harding, Indiana Conference Associate Director of Financial Services, will lead this workshop. Geared towards treasurers, and finance committee chairs/members, the session is an overview of basic finance functions, best practices and risk management.

Staff/Pastor Parish Relations  – Conference Superintendent Jim Bushfield will lead this workshop. It is open to pastors, SPRC chairs and SPRC committee members. Learn about the role, responsibility and unique ministry of the Staff-Parish Relations Committee.

Discipleship - R. C. Muhlbaier, Associate Director of Leadership Development – Laity, Indiana Conference, will lead this workshop. The Discipleship Workshop will offer an opportunity for participants to reflect on their own discipleship journey to become more like Christ and how we can support other lifelong disciples in our churches.  Participants will examine the stages of the discipleship journey and strategies for supporting the growth of disciples at each stage through learning, serving, and personal relationships. Finally, participants will be offered examples of resources for facilitating intentional discipleship in the local church.

Whether you are part of a leadership team or interested in furthering your own spiritual formation, this workshop will offer a simple and powerful framework for engaging in intentional discipleship.
