Using Play Therapy Skills for Consultation Within School Settings 

This workshop will focus on using Play Therapy within school and childcare settings!

This training is recommended for anyone working within a school or childcare settings. Participants will learn about the ACT Model: Acknowledge the Feeling, Communicate the Limit, and Target an Alternative Behavior; Child-Parent Relationship (CPR), and will be able to demonstrate Play Therapy skills with teachers and within the classroom setting.

Specific activities and strategies will be explored. 

Workshop Objectives:

  • Explain and practice ACT Play Therapy model.
  • Use the Child-Parent Relationship Play Therapy model.
  • Demonstrate and model Play Therapy skills with teachers and within the classroom setting.
  • Prepare teachers in creating relationship with children in the classroom using ACT and CPR Play Therapy models.

Cost: $120 - please add $10 for 4 State of Florida CEUs. 4 contact APT credits are also included.

Register Now! About the Presenter:

Jane Robinson, LMHC, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Infant Mental Health Specialist founded the Center for Child Counseling in 1999 and continues her work as a volunteer consultant, trainer, and clinical supervisor. 

She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Play Therapist Supervisor and is trained in Infant Mental Health through The Center for Prevention and Early Intervention  at Florida State University. Jane co-authored a chapter, “Play Therapy Techniques with Very Young At-Risk Children in Child Care Settings” published in the book Play Therapy with Very Young Children, edited by Dr. Charles Shaefer and wrote “A Way of Being with Children” – a manual focusing on helping caregivers effectively work with young children.

Center for Child Counseling is approved by the Florida Board of Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists, and Licensed Mental Health Counselors: Provider #50-11511. We are also an approved provider of Play Therapy Continuing Education. APT Approved Provider #09-263.
