One Day Zen Retreat
Sunday, June 23, 2019
What is meditation?
Zen Master Zhaozhou replied, it's not meditation.
It's alive!
A Zen meditation retreat is an opportunity to discover for yourself the "aliveness" of meditation. Join us for this one day retreat; there will be meditation and koans, interviews with the teacher, Dharma talks and discussion, music and lots of quiet warmth. No experience is required and the retreat is open to everyone.
Retreat Agenda
8:15am-8:45am: Optional Zen meditation and walking meditation instruction, for those who have never done Zen meditation before or would like a refresher.
9am-noon: Introductory talk and koan, meditation, body movement, private interviews with the teacher.
noon-1:00pm: lunch break (vegan)
1:00-4pm: Meditation, private interviews with the teacher, sutra service, zen talk and discussion.
Retreat Leader
This retreat is led by Roshi Guy Gaudry, Director of the London Zen Centre.
After successfully training in Zen in the classical manner for 20 years Guy went on to study koans, after which he received Dharma Transmission in the Zen line of Robert Aitken and John Tarrant. Using meditation, koans, art, and a deep intimacy, Guy offers a warm and direct way of experiencing Zen and an awakened life.
Cost: $99, LZC members $50
