"Reconciliation"
Dear Presbyterians!
Welcome to 2019! For the past few years your Gathering Planning Team has attempted to plan gatherings with an overarching theme for the year and 2019 is no different. This year the theme is Reconciliation.
As Christians we are called to be in communion with one another "For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility" Eph. 2:14. Most of us enter into a process of reconciliation every Sunday morning as we Pass the Peace during church. But how often do we think about what we're doing? Are we only greeting a friend we haven't seen in a couple weeks, or are we also taking the opportunity to say I'm sorry to someone who we slighted, intentionally or not, the previous Sunday? Even knowing that we should reconcile with our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, our family, and even our enemies, we still struggle to live into this call.
Join us on February 19th at Living Hope Church in Menomonee Falls as we hear from David Sawyer and Deborah Fortel, consultants and authors, who will provide us with a theological basis for reconciliation. This is a great place to begin our year-long journey confronting what it really means to reconcile with our family and neighbors.
Of course we'll also take care of some business, break bread, worship together, when we'll be installing a new batch of leaders during worship, and maybe even do a little reconciling amongst ourselves.
