Barker's latest New Parent Group, for families that have recently adopted a child, will be starting on Tuesday, March 5th.  The four-session group provides a unique opportunity for adoptive families to meet, share experiences and learn from one another. Parents are welcome to bring their child(ren) to the sessions.

Discussion topics include:

• Attachment and bonding
• Sleep Issues
• Possible post-adopt "blues" and emotional issues
• Changes of lifestyle, sibling adjustments, challenges in relationship with spouse and other family members
• Responding to questions and comments from others
• Laying the foundation for sharing the adoption story
• Communication with birth family (if applicable)

The group will be facilitated by licensed social worker, Monica Testa LCSW-C, and wil be held on the following Tuesdays:  March 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th from 10:30AM - 12:00.

Cost per family: $95
