Weekend retreat on the preliminary practices (Ngondro). Teachings are suitable for those with no prior meditation experience and those new to the Buddhist path.
Ngöndro is the “preliminary practice” for Tibetan Buddhism requiring commitment and support. It means "something which precedes." In a direct and very practical way, these preliminary practices of Tibetan Buddhism are methods which allow us, most efficiently, to purify negativity and accumulate merit. They bring forth our fullest potential, while removing the veils which keep us from experiencing and expressing our Enlightened nature. These are also pre-requisite practices to attend retreats in the the higher yogas of the Vajrayana.
Cost:
Residential - $150 for the weekend
Commuter - $60 - 100 (commuter rate includes all teachings and lunch and dinner Saturday, lunch on Sunday)
Texts available for purchase.
Retreat will begin Friday, March 22, 2019 at 7 pm in the shrine room. Please arrive early to check in and get settled into your room. Two vegetarian meals will be served on Saturday and lunch on Sunday.
