 This course is a discussion about extending the service life of an existing roof through restoration. We will explore the various options and materials available and identify which types of roofing systems are best candidates for roof restoration. This course also delves into the economics and environmental benefits of roof restoration.

• Identify sustainable roof preservation materials and methods when researching roof preservation solutions.

• Provide multiple surface treatment possibilities available for roof restoration when writing roofing specifications.

• Discuss multiple types of roofing systems that can successfully be preserved and restored during the evaluation of roof systems.

• Understand the safety, economic and environmental benefits of roofing preservation in comparison to roof replacement

Presenter

Keith Schwarting CDT got his BArch from Northeastern University.  Passionate about zero waste roof restoration projects and providing lifetime solutions for even the most challenging commercial roofs.  He has overseen new construction, restoration projects and vegetated roof projects from the early design stages, through procurement and installation. Providing inspections, diagnostics, details and specifications for both new construction and restoration.
