Death and Taxes: Pre- and Post-Mortem Tax Planning

Daniel T. Staszak, CPA, MS
Staszak & Company

As the saying goes, nothing is certain but death and taxes. Join us in February where Dan Staszak will discuss this important and sometimes complicated topic. He will discuss various things to consider when someone passes away. Including the different tax return filing requirements for the decedent, trusts and probate estates. The importance of the “step up” in basis for calculating gains and losses and resetting deprecation. He will also cover how income and distributions from estates and trusts are taxed and what type of income tax planning can be done for beneficiaries. You won’t want to miss this informative presentation!

*This topic has been approved by the CFP Board for 1.0 hour of CE credit.
