UPDATE 2/14: While it has been snowing pretty well today, we are still on for tomorrow's (Friday 2/15) Kids Nature Night. There are only 5 spots left! Here are a few updates for the event-

Drive safe and slow! We will be at the building the whole night so if you aren't able to make it until 6:00, we'll still be here to check your child in.

Please bring warm clothes, preferably waterproof and/or snow clothes for your child. There will be no night hike, but the kids will be able to run around and play in the snow near the building. If they do not have any winter clothing, they will not be allowed outside.

With the clothes for playing outside, it would be a good idea to bring a set of dry clothes in a bag for them to change into in case they get soaked playing outside. The bag should be large enough to hold the wet clothes, such as a garbage bag.

As with all of our Kids Nature Nights, for the movie at the end of the night your child can bring a blanket, sleeping bag, pillow, etc. to get comfy and ready for bed by the time you come to pick them up. They are not required, but most kids enjoy having them!

In the event we do need to cancel (not likely), you will be notified through email and a phone call. As for your payment, you can either receive a full refund or have this fee put towards the next Kids Nature Night. We may have the ability to reschedule this night for later this month or for March's event.

For this Kids Nature Night the theme is "Love Birds" for being the day after Valentines Day where the kids will learn about the many wonders of birds! Attendees will learn about different birds and how they attract their mates. Whether by the wing of an albatross, the legs of an ostrich, or on the back of an emperor penguin, we hope to see your child here!  

  

Kids will have free range of the Jewett Interpretive Center (with supervision of course!) to move freely between activities and stations throughout the evening. Towards the end of the program, everyone will gather in the Gardenview Room to watch a nature movie related to the theme. Kids can bring their own blankets and pillow to get cozy during the movie while waiting for pick up.

All attendees will be fed pizza (pepperoni, cheese, and hawaiian) with lemonade and passion-orange-guava juice. If your child is a picky eater or has dietary restrictions, feel free to send along some snacks or a meal for them to enjoy. Please mark any and all allergies on the health and registration form so their leaders have the information ready.

Each child needs a separate Health and Registration Form filled out and brought to the event for each year. If your child has attended a Kids Nature Night in 2019 or 2019 Nature Day Camp then you do not need to fill out the form again. General Kids Nature Night Schedule

4:45pm to 5:45pm- Child check-in and drop-off

5:45pm to 6:00pm- Choice time for crafts and games/activities

6:00pm to 6:30pm- Dinner

6:30pm to 8:00pm- Choice time and/or Night Hike

8:00pm to 9:00pm- Movie time starting @ 8:15pm

8:30pm to 9:00pm- Child check-out and pick-up

Drop off starts at 4:45pm and pick-up begins at 8:30pm while the program ends at 9:00pm sharp. After 9:00pm any late pick-ups will be charged an additional $15.00 per 15 minutes late so please be on time, your kids will be missing you! (Arrangements for early pick-up/late drop-off must be made prior to event; early pick-up/late drop-off will not receive any discounts)

Cancellation/Refund Policy

If you need to cancel your child's Kids Nature Nigh session for any reason, please contact us immediately.  If the session is cancelled with at least 7 days notice you will receive a full refund minus a $5 processing fee.  If the session is cancelled with less than 7 days, no refund will be given
